Subject: Lavender Marketing Career Question

Dear Lavender Team,

Such a horrible way to start a cold email, I know. Spent some time thinking on who to address this to: Will, Will(iam) or Josh? I hope my seeming gaffe won’t cost me this role.

I’ve spent the past 1 hour enveloping myself in everything I can find about Lavender: LinkedIn posts, the blog, the Chrome extension, and Semrush data. All I can think of is, “why am I just finding out about this product now?” I love disruptively innovative products and Lavender is one of them.

It’s amazing how you’ve created and implemented a strong social media marketing strategy and I look forward to being a part of the creation and implementation of the SEO, event marketing, and email marketing strategies.

Going by what I’ve studied about the brand, Lavender’s SEO and organic marketing focus should be on brand awareness and customer acquisition. The features and value of the product are so wonderful that customer retention won’t be a problem (that’s not to say we wouldn’t focus on it too).

I’ve studied data from Semrush and read some of the blog posts, and believe there are opportunities we can leverage. Customer interviews and a study of the ICPs will uncover questions and pain points that can form the basis for keyword research. Also, product-led content creation with topics like “How Lavender’s Sales AI Can Help You Improve Your Cold Emailing Response Rate” can be used to target keywords.

My best skills are the following: marketing strategy, content marketing, email marketing, community building & PR. I understand that this will be a challenging and fast-paced role where I’d be required to deliver results that align with the business and marketing goals while also learning quickly.

As someone who has had experience manually crafting thousands of personalized first lines and sending cold emails, I understand how disruptive this innovation is for the cold email tool industry and am excited to join the Lavender Team. Attached is my resume.
