Outreach is a great tool! Would definitely recommend scanning through Outreach University; they also have some basic sequences that you can plug your messaging into. As with any automation tool, I’d recommend taking it easy when you first start sequencing people. It’s easy when there are auto tasks, but manual tasks can sure pile up if you’re throwing 100 people a day into a cadence. I’m a big fan of social selling, and they have unique LinkedIn tasks based on the type of touch on top of your typical email and call tasks, so leverage that! Good luck!
Thanks @nicolesterkel! I’ll definitely go easy on the automated part especially as a newbie to the tool. I want it to be a support to streamline and scale personalisation, not to do my job for me. Anyways I’ll keep you posted here on how it will go!
Hey Alberto!
There are some great suggestions here. I’d also suggest checking out the Blueprint section when you go to create a new Sequence. These are based on best-practices we’ve seen across (what you can imagine) is a TON of Sequences. The first step will include instructions that describe how to put it to work best for the team. Additionally, a favorite blog article of mine helps plant great seeds on how best to think about sequences: https://www.outreach.io/blog/create-outbound-sales-sequences-that-kick-ass-and-convert
Darin @ Outreach
Hi Darin,
thanks for the recommendations! I’ll definitely have a look as I am a big fan of the tool already, and want to make the most out of it. I strongly believe I will take my engagement game to the next level, if used correctly. Keep you posted!
@scott-barker did a webinar with @becc-holland on this not too long ago. (It looks long, but a good chunk of the end is just Q&A).
This is definitely something valuable @colin-campbell! I’ll take some time to dig into this and take notes. I’ve been following Becc for a while and if there is someone who’s killing the outbound personalisation is her.
Hey @albertocolautti Alberto!
Congratulations! I saw a demo of this by Manny Medina CEO of Outreach. I advised him to hire me (hint hint Manny)
As soon as he does and I have some pointers, I will call you up.
No seriously, they sound like they have some great internal resources to get you up to speed.
Otherwise, if you can wait, I will reach out!
Cheers! Hope you are well!

@albertocolautti Molly Mitchell did a great job walking the Sales Engagement Masters audience through sequence building within the tool. Worth a watch for sure.
Thanks @jakedunlap, I had quite of a hectic end of the quarter but I’m planning to set aside some time to learn now that August kicks in! Cheers for the material
Just found this post from an Outreach customer – less about sequences and more about change management, adoption and setting up the instance/organization for overall success, but a good write up with detail on:
Adding in all of your content before you go live
Tagging everything
Controlling the messaging
Setting reps up for success
Being transparent
Being patient
Getting everyone on board

Tips for users:
1. Systematize your outreach: if you want to reach 100 people a week, don’t enroll all of them at once. Do 20 per day.
2. When calling, leverage Time Zone and Local Time features on Outreach. You can set up a smart view in tasks with these filters.
3. If you want to enroll a target group of prospects, use Salesforce lists instead of Outreach. SF has way more advanced list features and you can import all of them directly.
Also, leverage rulesets and triggers for automation.
