Recommendation for a quick start in sales world

I'm new to sales. I read a few books and took two or three udemy classes.

I am a worker in a health field who has graduated from computer engineering.

My question is, are there any online certified courses that you can recommend for a quick start?

Many thanks in advance,

Best regards

      I have taken some Hubspot courses that come with certifications in the past that I found to be helpful.

      To be honest though, a lot of sales training comes on the job and it is really about getting yourself comfortable with rejection which is hard to be taught in a class. My recommendation would be to try and find some entry level sales roles to start interviewing for as you take some certifications. Nothing can be more valuable than people telling you “No” in a sales conversation.

      Hey @fatihhamurcu! I’ve come across a lot of great online sales training courses – the best are actually ranked on a site called G2. I’ll drop the link and hopefully you can find something that works for you! https://www.g2.com/categories/sales-training

      Honestly, if you are really into sales and want to become a sales leader, just go out and connect with the Sales Director or Head of Sales of companies and ask if they are hiring or express your interest in the sales development roles.

      That shows potential because now you are someone who reached out to a manager or head whom you don’t know and tried to sell yourself. This shows potential and a true sales mentality. This is the best way to get hired and start your sales career. The rest is something you will learn through the actual job.

      @fatihhamurcu,

      If you’re going to need to do a lot of cold calling I recommend checking out Jason Bay’s video training (one link https://www.saleshacker.com/cold-calling-jason-bay/). If you’re going to be selling to large companies, I recommend reading “The New Strategic Selling” by Miller Heiman, https://www.amazon.com/New-Strategic-Selling-Successful-Companies/dp/044669519Xn.

      Certifications have not really caught on in sales (somewhat in sales/revenue operations, like Salesforce.com admin certification). So they don’t really mean much as far as I know.

      As others have said most sales training is “on the job” although I believe the quickest way to get better is some online/book/classroom training and then lots of reinforcement through trial and error on the job.

      If you want to tell me more about the type of selling you are going to be doing, type of target accounts, type of product, I (and others probably) could be more specific in my recommendations. Sales is NOT “one size fits all”. So what you should learn will vary by your environment.

      Nigel
