What is the best way to be prospected to?

Coming from a RevOps angle, i'd be interested to hear what the wider community thinks is the best way to be prospected to.

I don’t come from sales, nor am I someone who gets prospected too. BUT, nevertheless, LinkedIn and Telephone are the main ways that I know we prospect outbound.

Check out Mark Colgan’s course ‘Outbound Prospecting’ with Sales Impact Academy. He covers the best ways to prospect and overcome objections that you get in return. It starts again on February 15… Here is the course syllabus > https://www.salesimpact.io/course/outbound-prospecting/

It might be worth finding out where your prospects would rather be contacted through… And then, once that’s been understood you could find the right technology to do so.

“Do they prefer to connect using social media, email, in person or by phone? Which social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) do they use most and what type content do they prefer to consume (videos, articles, podcasts, checklists, etc.)?”

Anything with Outreach and Hubspot! And Cognism… They’re great tools for any prospecting. Vidyard is also a super useful tool for a more personal and imaginative approach.

Interesting Q… Budget is a frustration when you’re trying to determine the right software to invest in, because you can’t have them all.

It depends on your buyer persona. For example, my current vertical of customers are e-commerce. Their buy personas dislike cold calls so my team don’t make them.

Form of communication for prospecting is email and/or linkedin DM

I come from a sales background, more than 30 years 🙂

      This 2021 and not 1980.

Never have people had such unfettered access to information, IE… Internet

Most people/business owners have researched pains/problems they have and have ideas of what solutions they want.

I find far too many salespeople when I get prospected try to “contort and shoehorn” prospects into a solution without even finding out if it’s a good fit.

That may have worked in 1980 when people had little idea of what was available, but it’s an epic fail in 2021.

I find for me, and also for those I prospect that direct response marketing, targeting ideal prospects, and using a compelling message that resonates with targeted prospects, that it’s much more effective as people are so well informed to compel them to reach out, rather that call them.

There is no warmer or qualified of a lead than one that reaches out to you!
