Announcing Sales Hacker 2.0! What’s next?

We handed you the keys, and you took the lead.

You asked for a filterable feed of everything on the site, and it’s here!

Now you can click on “All Channels” and filter all of Sales Hacker’s content by views, likes, comments, you name it! (Go check it out — tell us what you think!)

We weren’t kidding when we said this is YOUR community.

But we don’t want to stop here. We’ve got so many cool features cooking up in the Sales Hacker kitchen, but we need your insight and direction.

Here’s a sneak peak at just a few items already in the works, listed below. Please tell us what’s most important to you. And if there’s something not listed here, we want to hear that too. Reply in the comments below!

1. Changing Post “Likes” to a thumbs up/down.

This feature has been requested more than once by the Sales Hacker Community; we believe it will help us make sure you see the best quality content & not just the most popular.

2. Adding a Favorite / Save For Later Feature.

This feature would let you save content & find it later in your personal profile feed by using sorting.

3. Skill Based Content Journeys & Courses

Sales Hacker is already the leading sales community, full of amazing content, but using that content to learn new skills can still be difficult. We’re going to create custom collections of content that help you learn the latest sales techniques step by step.

4. Badges & Rewards

We want to make sure you’re recognized for all your participation on Sales Hacker; whether it’s for being an active community member, going the extra mile by contributing as a webinar guest or author, or gaining new sales skills via our Content Journeys you should get badges & rewards to reflect that. We would love to see your Sales Hacker profile become a valuable resource for job seekers to show off their sales experience & expertise.

5. Mobile App
This is another feature that’s been requested more than once by the Sales Hacker Community; a real, installable app for iPhone & Android devices.

If you had to stack-rank those 5 features Max listed – how would you rank them?

@colin-campbell – Very interesting. The list from @tengle is exactly what Sales Hacker Engineering expected; sales pros live on their phones! 🤣

Getting us started here. Here’s my stack-ranked list of priorities. Please tell me where you disagree!

      1) Change “likes” to “upvote/downvote” – I like this as a way for us to hold each other accountable for really quality answers. And we all trust each other enough to not spam that downvote button just because we disagree. For one, we could use this to always have a running list of features on the roadmap that YOU could upvote/downvote based on what you most want.

      4) Badges & rewards. Because learning and career progress should be fun.

      2) Save for later. I use this in other apps all the time (Reddit, linkedIn, Instagram, medium)

      3) Skill-based journeys/courses – Weird that this is falling so low for me, because I really do like it!

      5) Mobile app. We get a lot of desktop traffic. But then again, maybe people would visit on their mobile devices more if they liked the mobile experience more 🙂

@colin-campbell – Thank you for sharing not only your list, but your reasons. One of the best things about the product announcements on Sales Hacker is that we get to collect all this great feedback & have an open dialogue with the community to make sure we’re constantly adding new value for everyone.

It’s a great time to be a Sales Hacker!

Love the upvote/downvote. I know when we brainstormed a while back this was functionality I was really behind!

The new filterable feed is a GAME CHANGER. And I love it. 🔥🔥🔥 Thank you @joshua_g & team for all the amazing work.

If I had to rank the new features (ok, this is way harder than I thought), I’d say:

      2, 4, 3, 1, 5

Can’t wait to see everyone’s thoughts and reactions!

Thanks for the shout out @samantha_hembree! As always, it was a team effort. Without our awesome Founding Members to help us choose a direction, or the support from you & the rest of the team, Sales Hacker Engineering wouldn’t have a reason to exist.

For anybody wondering, some of the things (maybe not all) that Amy has asked for are:

        – A field on the profile to indicate if you’re open for job opportunities.

        – A profile field indicating if you’re open to speaking engagements.

        – A better indication of who a person is in a comment thread like this one. For instance, you cannot tell from my user name that I lead the team at Sales Hacker, or that Amy is a Channel Director on the AEs channel.

        – Better onboarding for new members (okay, not really a feature, but it was great feedback and we’re working on it).

Thank you @amyhre for the great product feedback. I totally agree that we could do better with new user onboarding as well as general educational content on how to benefit from the platform. I promise you that we’re working on it.

@marygreencny, adding you so you can chime in if you want to!

      3) Skill based Content Journeys & Courses

      5. Mobile App – *Mobile First – just need to look at the stats – your dev team got it right here. Good work @joshua_g (thumbs up!)
      2. Adding a Favorite / Save For Later Feature. *Why? because favorites are a bookmark..for learning! And SH is just that.
      3. Skill Based Content Journeys & Courses *makes it easier to continue the learning journey and accelerate competency. Nice.
      4. Badges & Rewards *All Good and take care of the flyby’s
      1. Changing Post “Likes” to a thumbs up/down. *Authentic honesty, the best policy.

      Thanks for listening SH!

      Most important to least important:

      1. Skill Based Content Journeys & Courses – love this idea. Imagining some kind of certification after completing a journey (and maybe a capstone project of some kind?)

      2. Badges and Rewards – would love to see what leaders in the space are doing to level up their own game and emulate that. Having a badge or some other indicator will help me know right away if I should check out someone’s profile & what to expect to learn from them.

      3. Favorite/Save Later feature – great for helping me build a library of content to go back to whenever I have free time (if I get free time 😂)

      4. Thumbs up/down vs. Likes – cool to see what people are most interested in, but I feel like it doesn’t move the needle all that much for me.

      5. Mobile app – I definitely don’t need an excuse to keep working after work hours are over haha. I’m on my desktop all day anyway, so I wouldn’t use a mobile app all that much (unless I’m traveling, and who knows when I’ll do that again).

Love what you guys are doing and the approach you’re taking – keep it up!

Thanks @max-altschuler and the SH Engineer team , @joshua_g
@colin-campbell Here are my top 5:
      1. Mobile – always on from my phone (There is an app for that- love it!)
      2. Badges because sales people always love bragging rights
      3. Skill based courses to help refine skills
      4. Favorites for later because I always want to come back for something

      Cheers!

      Thanks again everyone!

Adding a Favorite / Save For Later Feature. – This one is my favorite idea of the list! The remaining are generally tied for me, but I think the next I’d want is Changing Post “Likes” to a thumbs up/down.
