How do you stay motivated?

Everything that is happening in the world right now can really drag you down. As we are all learning how to adapt to this new normal many of us need to alter the way we are motivated.

Eating well, exercising, and making short term goals professionally and personally that I can really focus on has really helped me stay on track and motivated.

What kind of things are you doing to stay motivated?

      I imagine every day before I start calling where I want to be and how making those calls will get me there. Lights a fire in me, and sometimes I pair it with looking at the things I want, like a trip or car, etc.

      So for me, podcasts, video interviews, or talks given by amazing business leaders are always motivating or inspiring.

      Unfortunately, when I need inspiration the most – when I’m stressed – I tend to buckle down and just work harder, not making the time to be inspired.

      Lately I’ve been forcing myself away from the screen in the morning by pretending I have a commute. Because that used to be the time I’d listen to or watch a leader to get inspired.

      So now I go get a coffee, and go for a 30-min drive and listen. It’s a nice way to start the day – a little more moderately paced and less hectic than just diving into my inbox.

        I love that Colin. Forcing yourself to just get out and regroup is great. I find that commute in the morning is so crucial for me. That is really when I get the chance to visualize how I am going to attack the day.
