If you want to read about how I made the list, and why, read on.

Generative AI is all the craze, mostly because of OpenAI’s ChatGPT and their freemium go-to-market motion, which made them go viral for being the fastest ever application to reach 100 million users.

There are other natural language AI models besides OpenAI’s GPT-4:

  • Demind Gopher
  • Facebook OPT
  • Hugging Face Bloom
  • Cohere
  • Anthropic
  • AI-12
  • GPT-NEOX
  • GPT-J
  • AI21
  • Alibaba
  • Yandex
  • Etc.

…but these models are just the underlying data scienc-ey stuff.

To most of us, what’s actually interesting about generative is the application, regardless of the model.

And fortunately for our hatred for busywork, the generative AI market is exploding. As of this writing in April 2023, this is what search interest in generative AI looks like:

The crazy thing is, experts all pretty much agree that we’re just at the early days of the generative AI market.

Even while new generative AI sales tools launch literally every day, we figured Sales Hacker should start mapping this market and keeping tabs on the trends.

Methodology

I scraped ProductHunt for tools that mentioned generative AI (I used Browse.ai for that), then selected out the sales-focused ones. I also looked at the past several months of the “Cool Tools” roundups in the Bens Bites newsletter, which focuses on AI.

I did also check out the lists of AI Tech companies from all the big consulting firms, but they were much less up-to-date, and generally less helpful.

Lastly, I created this LinkedIn post asking people to tell me about their generative AI products or features for salespeople, just in case I missed any.
